Our friend Art has set out to make this huge painting. Everything in the house has been moved and installed to work on this giant art work. The art work actually covers the door to the bath room, so Art has not been able to shower for some days...and going to the toilet has also required quite some improvising....
Well, but now Art looks at this huge master piece fully enjoying the way in which he has been able to capture his grand movements an subtle work style... He can actually say that he has overcome all issues and practical hurdles of making this artistic climax.
Then his son comes in, and Art looks with excitement at the face of the boy...he must be impressed by this monumental work, this is even aesthetically nice for a young soul....
Then his son speaks..."sure dad, it's nice, but how to get it out of the door?"...
Art is silent, his eyes open wide and it takes some time for this sentence and its consequences to penetrate his brain...does he feel disappointment, or sadness or even anger...
It is the fury in him that wins...
- always the same practical sh*t that is killing him
- why cant his son just first look at the beauty and give him 5 minutes of joy before crushing his dream
- why the #%^* did he ask his son for his opinion
- why does art each time feels so good, just before awaking into terribly honest reality
- why does he keep starting new art experiments when they so often fail in the end
While Art is raging his son sneaks out and goes back to play on his computer, connected with his friends. He is again amazed at how his father could have overlooked the issue of the size of the art work... and probably there is still a way to solve the issue but his father is too busy cursing and yelling. Of course he does not share this with his friends, although some time it might be nice to share these odd experiences, but guess nobody would come close to understanding how it is to be the son of an artist....
Notebook drawings about Art Burshy, an artist struggling with his challenges and dark sides on his way to become successful in art and business, whatever that might be...

I can feel the inspiration coming
Our friend Art doesn't stand the cold very well, so he went to a tropical island to get through the winter. He also feels that the temperatures in summer actually inspire him.
And he told his accountant that this would be a work trip...
he would go to find inspiration and break through some barriers...
so the cost of the trip are tax-deductible, aren't they?!
This morning he wakes up on the beach...
or is it afternoon already...
he has this weird feeling in his head that he only vaguely recognises from years ago when he was young...
almost feels like a huge hangover...
Looking around he sees the wine bottles of last night.
He smiles and starts to remember the great conversations he had, the brilliant stories that he heard..
or did he imagine.
Now he senses the taste of 'dead birds' in his mouth...
and somehow he now notices his heart is beating in his head...
and he feels pain in his neck, as if he has slept all night in a weird position...
Yes, these are the consequences of a bacchanal night like the ancient Greeks used to have. And it is pretty painful now, but he smiles as...like for the Greek the greatest myths were created during the darkest moments of such nights, and somehow he can feel the inspiration coming.
Art feels that many people stay to often in their safe zone, never willing to go too deep anymore, and afraid to have some pain afterwards... that is so monotonous and boring! Art smiles like a dog happily awakening from being operated still fuzzy from the anaesthetics... this is painful, but at least he is alive...and he thinks that this will lead him definitely to a true master piece...what do you think?

5 steps to become successful
Art has had some nice exhibitions, and frequently gets approached by artists, journalists and visitors. They want to understand how he became 'successful'...
In addition Art has noticed that nowadays every book or article gives you '9 ways to do marketing' or 5 key elements of webadvertising, or 10 rules to live your life.
Art is a bit of a strange guy, and he has developed some of his views in his own brain:
- people writing books to guide others are often people who think they have it all figured out. They have developed a simplified view of how the world works and they are arrogant enough to think it will be the same for others....must take a lot of arrogance to write 200 pages of lessons for others
- all these rules and lessons generally focus on a direct way to the result, creating a fake image that tough challenges can be solved in a simple way.
So, when asked what to do to become successful...the answer is simple..do not become an artist, because an artist always takes the most indirect way to success.
In fact most artist are only successful when getting old or dead...so for people seeking success during their life...definitely not the best option...

A practical guide to Evolution v 3.07
Art thought he needed some time to reflect on himself, on how he is the product of his social context, a result of evolution. So...being very thorough he ended up creating his own theory on evolution, and ready now to present....
Yes, indeed V 3.07 of his Evolution theory.
He actually made some shocking discovery during his research and reflection...
Basically the purpose of things in this world are defined by mankind...
But what was the purpose of things before mankind?
And what is the purpose of mankind itself?
And maybe there is actually no purpose for mankind?
And maybe even worse...
If there is no purpose for mankind...there is no purpose for art !!!!
So, this is the point where our friend Art has a choice:
a) accept the dramatic consequences of this new insight
b) keep searching for a purpose
c) invent a purpose for mankind, and therefore for art
d) become religious and deny it all
Although Art has taken his time, and now on the verge of making his comeback on this site... he is still not fully sure which choice to make...
